In response to COVID-19 reaching pandemic status, our top priority is maintaining the safety and wellbeing of our clients, partners and employees. We are actively following direction and recommendations from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent the spread of germs and infection.
At this time, the Texas City Housing Authority will be closing access to its lobby. However, the office will be operating via phone and email.
If you have a scheduled appointment, please call your caseworker to inquire about the status.
If you are dropping off paperwork, please feel free to use our night drop box located at the front of our office. We will be regularly checking this box.

Welcome to the Texas City Housing Authority website! The Texas City Housing Authority is a non-profit/governmental agency that is federally funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD). We are governed by a Board of Commissioners that are appointed by the Mayor. We have been serving the Texas City area since 1950 and the La Marque area since 1996.
This website includes information about our housing programs and affordable housing developments, client services and important contact information. We encourage you to take full advantage of
the information provided, so we can do an even better job providing affordable housing opportunities and access to related services to those in need.
Our Mission
The Texas City Housing Authority’s mission is to serve the needs of low-income, very low-income and extremely low-income families in the PHA’s jurisdiction and to (1) increase the availability
of decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing in its communities; (2) ensure equal opportunity in housing; (3) promote self-sufficiency and asset development of families and individuals;
and (4) improve community quality of life an economic viability. The Texas City Housing Authority will strive for improvement of the physical conditions of housing developments and will continually
upgrade the management and operations of the public housing agency, while developing and enhancing a stronger healthier and viable economic initiative-related to low-income housing assistance and
while encouraging self-sufficiency and independence for its residents.
